Meet our founders

The Story Behind Aakar
Aakar was born from the vision and lived experiences of Dr. Purva Shah, a renowned Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician and the founder of Samvedan Child Development Centre.
After working with thousands of neurodiverse children and their families over the years, Dr. Shah saw a consistent pain point:
“My child is not able to cope with regular school. But where else can we go?”
Traditional schools were rigid. Special schools often overlooked academics. Home schooling lacked structure. Parents were stuck between what was available and what was right.
As a clinician, educator, and advocate, Dr. Shah felt the deep need to build a solution—not just a clinic or a school, but a place that understands neurodiversity, respects individuality, and still maintains academic dignity.
And so, Aakar was born—as a structured schooling solution within the Samvedan ecosystem, backed by a team of therapists, special educators, psychologists, and curriculum planners. It is a place where learning is not forced, but facilitated through customized plans, therapeutic integration, and unconditional acceptance.
— Dr Purva Shah, Neurodevelopment paediatrician, Founder

From Our Founder
“When I started Urban Tutor in 2019, it was with a clear purpose: to support learners who didn’t fit into the mold of conventional education. Whether it was due to learning difficulties, disabilities, or the constraints of rigid systems, these children needed more than academic help—they needed a place that saw their potential, offered flexibility, and restored their confidence.”
Aakar is the natural next step in that journey. While Urban Tutor supports older students through NIOS coaching, remedial learning, and life skills, Aakar focuses on early roots—foundational learning, early intervention, and holistic care. Here, no milestone is too small, and every child is met with patience, strategy, and belief.
At Aakar, we recognize that education isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our guiding belief remains simple: Bridge the gap. Build confidence. Celebrate growth.”
